What is the color fastness of your fabrics?

Color fastness measures how well a fabric retains its color under various conditions, and the level you need depends on your application and the stresses the fabric will face.
Digital printing delivers the best color fastness in our range, achieving Grade 4-5 for washing, light exposure, and dry rubbing, with Grade 4 for wet rubbing. This makes it our recommendation for high-traffic upholstery, children's products, and any application where the fabric will be washed frequently or exposed to significant wear.
Disperse dyeing on polyester also performs well, with Grade 4 washing fastness and Grade 4-5 for light and dry rubbing. Wet rubbing runs Grade 3-4, which is good performance suitable for most home textile applications.
Rotary screen printing with disperse inks achieves Grade 3-4 across most categories, offering a balance between cost efficiency at volume and acceptable durability. This works well for curtains, decorative applications, and products that won't face heavy wear.
Pigment printing is our most economical option but comes with lower fastness ratings of Grade 2-3 for washing and wet rubbing. This process suits applications where cost is the primary concern and the fabric won't face frequent washing or heavy abrasion.
The grading scale runs from 1 to 5, where Grade 5 means no color change at all, Grade 4 indicates only slight change, Grade 3 shows noticeable change, and Grade 2 represents considerable change. For most home textile applications, Grade 3 or higher is acceptable, while demanding applications like upholstery benefit from Grade 4 or higher.
We test according to ISO standards—ISO 105-C06 for washing, ISO 105-B02 for light, and ISO 105-X12 for rubbing—and can provide test reports for any specific fabric upon request.
